Kllo Release Music Video For New Single ‘Virtue’

Kllo Release Music Video For New Single ‘Virtue’

Representing Melbourne at Let Them Eat Cake will be cousins Simon Lam and Chlo Kaul aka Kllo.

The duo, who are often on the receiving end of some well deserved hype after each release, have seen plenty of success in recent years. Their first single ‘Make Me Wonder’ (which started everything when it was picked up by BBC Radio 1), really got things moving for the duo. The follow up single ‘False Calls’ was premiered on Triple J’s 2014 (with Richard Kingsmill), then fast forward a little to their 2016 single ‘Boldie’, and watch it go on to clock well over one million plays Spotify plays.

Leading up into the Australian summer, Kllo have been busy drip feeding music from their upcoming debut album ‘Backwater’ with tracks ‘Nylon’, the downtempo ‘Downfall’ and 'Virtue'… The latter being accompanied by a stellar music video.

Watch the video to ‘Virtue’, and keep a keen eye out for Kllo’s debut album ‘Backwater’, which is to be released October 20.

The Librarian is utterly delightful

The Librarian is utterly delightful

Shhhhhhhh! Andrea Graham is known as the Librarian, but don't be fooled by her deceptively quiet composure. The Bass Coast Music Festival's co-founder and music curator has been making some very loud noises up and down North America's Pacific Northwest for the better part of a decade. Making her Cake debut this year, she spoke with BBM Magazine recently about Let Them Eat Cake and more...

A delightful read indeed...

Jasper James Expertly updates a Classic

Jasper James Expertly updates a Classic

Jasper James has remixed a downright classic for the The Underground Sound of Glasgow 2017 compilation.

The late Romanthony’s ‘Bring U Up’ is one of those songs that many love and many try their hand at remixing, but it’s Jasper James’ recent rendition that has us grooving all the way through the day.

When he posted about his remix online, Jasper said “It's a huge honour to get the chance of remixing a Romanthony track”, as he joined a list of elite artists including Dixon, Gerd Janson, Motor City Drum Ensemble and more who are signed to the esteemed record label.

Stephan Bodzin Remixes Tale Of Us & Vaal

Stephan Bodzin Remixes Tale Of Us & Vaal

Stephan Bodzin’s ethereal and transportive remix of ‘Monument’ by Tale Of Us & Vaal has been released on Afterlife Records.

The remix spans across seven and a half minutes of pure bliss, and is the first production Bodzin has posted on his Soundcloud page in over a year. It comes after Stephan’s stand-out performances at recent Afterlife events where he won a firm position in the hearts of many.

The remix was accompanied with two others, one from Cologne-based Barnt and the other from Swiss-based duo Adriatique (who made that stellar remix of Bodzin’s ‘Atlas’).

No doubt the great man is currently switching himself into a higher gear ahead of his performance at Let Them Eat Cake...

Tourist talks Aussie music

Tourist talks Aussie music

With fans such as Flume and Porter Robinson supporting his work, London-based songwriter and electronic musician William Phillips is considered an ‘artist’s artist’. Best known for winning a Grammy for co-writing the Sam Smith hit 'Stay With Me', the artist lives and breathes music. It comes as no surpirse then to hear that the Englishman has his finger on the pulse when it comes to Australian artists. Red Bull Music recently asked the artist to talk about 5 Aussie acts he rates - and some of his choices might surpirse you.

He purely relies almost exclusively on his innate skills and talent on the decks to thrive and prosper.

To help with preparation in the months leading up to Let Them Eat Cake, a little listening material is essential! Jackmaster recently posted a rare recording of his live set from the Terrace at the Circoloco opening party for your listening pleasure.

Big Shaq joins Let Them Eat Cake lineup!

Big Shaq joins Let Them Eat Cake lineup!

2 plus 2 is 4 minus 1 that’s 3... quick maths.

That is just one of the many moments in Big Shaq’s (aka. Michael Daapah) ‘Man’s Not Hot’ that has had the world in shock, awe, and stitches. After his live performance of ‘Man’s Not Hot’ on BBC1 XTRA took the world by storm, an official music video quickly surfaced which stunningly went on to rack up over 77 million plays in just a month.

Not surprisingly, the song also became the number one trending video on YouTube in a matter of days, and it can also lay claim to having the lowest Spotify skip rate ever recorded for an urban record.

Let Them Eat Cake will be Big Shaq’s only Melbourne performance, and it goes without saying that it’s a performance that cannot be missed.
